The Katoy and the Protectors of Mother Earth's

Official Preliminary Community Visit

Prior to what actually took place in the KPME seminar on population in Anislag, the Protectors planned to conduct a preliminary visit in their host community which is Amore Relocation Site in Anislag, Daraga, Albay. This visit intends to coordinate with the residents as well gather necessary information regarding the status of the community in terms of population and their perspectives regarding the issue. What seems to be a very nerve-wrecking trip to the relocation site turned out to be one of the most unique experiences Len, Jj, Kim, Kurt and Ian has got themselves into!

Kim conducts her interview with a resident named Ate Rosa. At first, the interview with her went along too awkwardly since the interviewee was too stern and mataray to us, but when we requested her to give her message to the youth of today with regards to parenting and family life through a video camera, she immediately said, “Halat lang ta maayos muna ako” then she went to the mirror and groomed herself and her Rapunzel-like hair and afterwards poses to the camera as if she were on TV. Among our interviewees, she the most unforgettable!

Ian mingling with the children of Amore. Well, he must've remembered the days how he looks like them when he was a child.hehehe

AFTER AMORE!!!

Right after we headed off from Anislag, we went to the fabulous Medes residence in Jaucian village of Tabon-Tabon, Daraga, Albay!! We took our delicious merienda of sinapot and the very sumptuous pancit we bought from Anislag.

At the end of the day, what seemed like to be a tiring and stressful journey to Anislag would seem to be a very fulfilling experience once you have done your purpose and created wonderful new experiences with your friends. It felt like I was flying, ....and I am literally flying in that photo.

There’s a very interesting and funny story behind these Hapee toothpaste sachets. On our way to Anislag, a medical institution in Legazpi conducted their parade along Rizal street advocating Dental Health. They were throwing and giving away free Hapee to passers-by which happened to be us during that time somewhere in the streets near BU. At first we were so disappointed coz we thought they are candies, so we are shy to pick them up in the streets, but then we taught that picking them up were not bad after all. Nahiya lng tlaga kming pulutin yun sa daan!

So when we went to Anislag we thought of giving away the toothpaste sachets to our interviewees.  So that’s it, it seemed like we were segment hosts of Eat Bulaga saying right after the interview, “At dahil kayo ang ininterview naming, heto ang tatlong Hapee toothpaste para sa inyo!”

And unlike us who were so ashamed to receive the Hapee toothpaste way back in BU, the residents were so glad with our treats! How over-whelming! At least those toothpastes went to the hands of more deserving people..hehehe.

After, we went sight-seeing and neighbor watching, and had a lot of fun at the rooftop!!

The girl in red in Len's very nice little sister. She was so adorable! Really! She never quarrels me, she was so angelic! No words can express her very beautiful atiitude towards me.
